The Council of Obas and Traditional Chiefs of Ijede in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has commended the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, through AIG Zone-2, Olatoye Durosimi, for their efforts in stopping criminal activities in Ijede.
In a letter previously sent by the community, they highlighted the prevalent issues of kidnapping, murder, and cultism, causing fear among residents. They expressed concern that if left unchecked, these crimes could lead to a lawless community.
Since the deployment of a tactical Police team in response to the community's letter, the leaders noted a significant reduction in criminal activities. They appreciated the prompt action taken by the Police and expressed gratitude for restoring a sense of security to Ijede and its environs.
