The management of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has suspended two students over allegations of cyberbullying the institution’s suspended Students’ Union Government President, James Iyanuoluwa Adio.
The suspension, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a statement published on the university’s official news portal and signed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Tajudeen Opoola, who is currently serving as Acting Vice-Chancellor.
The affected students, Alao Iyanuoluwa Odunayo and Olawale Abiodun Samuel, were accused of conspiring to expose the private affairs of Adio on social media after he allegedly failed to meet their financial demands.
According to the university, the action of the two students amounted to cyberbullying and was capable of bringing the institution into disrepute.
The management stated that investigations into the matter are still ongoing but directed the students to proceed on suspension pending the outcome of the probe.

Following his suspension, an explicit video allegedly involving the former SUG president surfaced online and quickly went viral, attracting widespread attention and prompting the intervention of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
