Gunmen recently attacked Nafan and Doruwa Babuje communities in Plateau State, killing a 17-year-old herder and 35 cows. The assailants, riding motorcycles, opened fire during the attack, also leaving another herder critically injured. Governor Caleb Mutfwang strongly condemned the incident, urging security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators.
In a statement, Governor Mutfwang emphasized his administration's zero-tolerance for lawlessness and violence against innocent citizens. He vowed to ensure justice for the victims by directing security agencies to track down the culprits. The governor also called on community leaders, including traditional, religious, youth, and women groups, to work together to restore peace in the affected areas.
Expressing condolences to the affected families, Governor Mutfwang urged residents to cooperate with authorities to identify and bring criminals to justice. The government is committed to maintaining harmonious living and ensuring the safety of all citizens in Plateau State.
