Nigerian Star Oba Femi Stuns Brock Lesnar in Explosive WrestleMania Debut

Nigerian professional wrestler Isaac Odugbesan, widely known as Oba Femi, delivered a shocking performance on the grand stage as he defeated Brock Lesnar in under five minutes during his WrestleMania debut on Sunday.

The bout, one of the headline clashes at WrestleMania 42, ended dramatically with the 27-year-old overpowering the veteran in a dominant display that quickly sent shockwaves through the wrestling world.

In a moment that fueled speculation, Lesnar removed his wrestling gear and left it in the ring after the match — a symbolic gesture in professional wrestling often associated with retirement.

Femi, nicknamed “The Ruler,” showed resilience from the start. Although Lesnar briefly took control with a series of powerful moves, including his trademark F5, the Nigerian star absorbed the pressure and turned the tide.

He responded with a thunderous chokeslam before sealing the victory with his finishing move, the “Fall From Grace” sit-out powerbomb, earning a decisive pinfall.

The upset victory immediately became a trending topic online, with fans reacting to the rapid rise of the Lagos-born wrestler, who has spent just three months on WWE’s main roster.

Before transitioning to wrestling, Odugbesan was a track and field athlete. Since signing with WWE in 2021 through its NIL programme, he has quickly built an impressive résumé, including winning the NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament and the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge.

Following the match, Femi sent a bold message to Roman Reigns, also known as the “Original Tribal Chief,” hinting at a potential title challenge later in the year — a move that drew a huge reaction from the crowd and signaled his growing ambition on the global stage.
