Oyebanji Wins Polling Unit as APC Dominates Voting in Ikogosi Ekiti

The All Progressives Congress has secured victory at the polling unit of its governorship candidate and incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji, in the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election.

Results announced at Polling Unit 003, Ward 06, Okelele, Ikogosi Ekiti, showed that the APC recorded a landslide with 326 votes.

The African Democratic Congress garnered two votes, while the Action Democratic Party and the African Action Congress received one vote each. Three ballots were declared invalid.

Results from the polling unit are as follows:

APC – 326 votes

ADC – 2 votes

ADP – 1 vote

AAC – 1 vote

Void votes – 3

Governor Oyebanji, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the APC, cast his vote alongside his wife, Olayemi Oyebanji, at about 11:38 a.m. on Saturday.

Speaking after voting, the governor expressed optimism that the ruling party would exceed its target of 500,000 votes in the election.

He also praised the level of voter participation and appealed to residents to remain calm over reported technical issues encountered in some areas.

According to him, the Independent National Electoral Commission would address any challenges to ensure that no eligible voter is denied the opportunity to exercise their franchise.
