Retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Parry Osayande, has died.
He passed away in Benin City, Edo State, on Sunday, September 28, 2025 — sadly, just a day before his 89th birthday.
Osayande spent most of his life serving in the Police Force. He worked as Commissioner of Police in different states before becoming a Deputy Inspector-General. Even after retirement, he was still active, serving as Chairman of the Police Service Commission from 2008 to 2013 and helping with important police reforms.
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, described him as a brave and respected officer who gave his best to Nigeria. He sent condolences to Osayande’s family, his colleagues, and the Police Service Commission.
For many, Osayande will be remembered not just for his rank, but for his dedication, professionalism, and courage.
