She recalled being barred from performing at concerts and having some music videos banned from television for being indecent, despite not wearing bikinis in them.

In a recent interview with BET, Tiwa Savage reminisced, saying, "When I first moved back, I would turn up at a show and they would say I can't perform because my outfit was too risqué. It was a cultural issue." Despite facing criticism and online backlash, she remained steadfast, and her unique style began to attract a growing fanbase.

The 'Koroba' hitmaker's perseverance paid off, leading to more opportunities and acceptance in the industry. She noted that as her fanbase grew, she was eventually invited to perform and her music was played due to popular demand. Tiwa Savage's boldness and refusal to conform eventually won over both fans and critics.

Recently, Tiwa Savage unveiled her movie, "Water & Garri," and shared that the idea came to her while she was intoxicated. She expressed gratitude to her team for embracing her idea, highlighting their support and encouragement.
