Tinubu also expressed sympathy to the state over the death of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman-Zuru, describing both incidents as “profound and painful.”

Condemning the attack, the president labelled the killing of the security personnel a “barbaric act” and praised the fallen officers for their bravery and sacrifice in the line of duty.

“We are here to express our deep sympathy to the families of the fallen personnel and the affected communities. The Federal Government is doing everything possible to support you in all ramifications,” Shettima said on behalf of the president.

Responding, Governor Nasir Idris said the visit demonstrated the federal government’s solidarity with the people of the state during a difficult time.
