Two Killed in Kaduna Bypass Crash as Angry Youths Burn Vehicles

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna Sector Command, has confirmed that two people lost their lives in a road accident along the Kaduna Western Bypass.

The Sector Commander, Andre Longkam, said the crash happened around 1:45 p.m. at the Federal Eye Centre Junction. It involved a DAF truck, a Honda car, and a motorcycle.

According to preliminary findings, the Honda vehicle collided with the motorcycle, leading to the death of the rider and a passenger at the scene.

Longkam added that tensions rose after the accident, as some angry youths reportedly set the affected vehicles on fire, causing further damage.

Officials from the FRSC, working alongside the police, quickly arrived at the scene to control traffic and restore order. Measures were also put in place to ensure vehicles could move freely and to prevent additional incidents.

The sector commander expressed concern over the crash and advised motorists to be more careful, especially on roads under construction. He urged drivers to obey traffic rules and avoid actions that could worsen emergencies.

He also confirmed that investigations are ongoing, while assuring the public that the FRSC remains committed to improving road safety.
